M.A.N.N.A. Fresh Food Rescue Program
MANNA is a food recovery program a mission to eliminate food waste and food insecurity by ensuring that wholesome, edible food reaches individuals and families in need. With our amazing partnerships, we've built a dynamic network of vendors who are excited to donate their surplus food. This food is distributed through our trusted nonprofit partners, creating a fantastic impact in our community! We're all about making a difference and spreading good vibes!
How Does it Work?
Food donors, including grocery stores, distributors, caterers, cafeterias, and, are stepping up to the plate by setting their delicious surplus food for our amazing nonprofit partners to collect Whether on a regular schedule or whenever needed, this edible goodness is rescued and given a chance. Once the food is gathered, our enthusiastic nonprofit partners jump into action, carefully checking the to ensure it’s perfect for distribution to community members in need. Together, we're making difference and spreading joy through good food!
Why is it Important?
*In California, 1 in 10 people face hunger due to lack of access to healthy, affordable food.* Despite this, the equivalent of 21.2 billion Meals went unsold or uneaten and instead were disposed of as a result of surplus food across California in 2022.
